Jesse Evans is the most wanted woman in the world. She must prove she didn’t sell out the elite Special Ops team she sent into a Columbian village to rescue a little girl, or her sister dies. Only one man can save them both. But he isn’t who Jesse thinks he is.
Kick Ass Read!
Wow what a fast paced read with tons of military recon action of taking names and kicking ass, all I can say is Rambo doesn’t have anything on OIA Agent Jesse Evans! When an in and out recon mission goes bad Agent Jesse finds herself set up to take the blame for the killings of her team troops and other team comrades.
Now accused as a traitor of selling out her country, there is only one thing on her mind and that is to survive, clear her name, catch the mole who sold her troops out to the drug lords, and to protect her sister from the real traitor back in the states.
Immediately you are captivated within the story as the scenes come alive in a jungle as Agent Jesse watches from afar as some of her fellow comrades are slaughtered (shot point blank in the head) even after she tried to warn her Team Headquarters that the mission was a trap. The scenes are graphic in detail and the suspense of escape and torture are at risk throughout the whole story.
At a turn of events, Agent Jesse finds herself partnering up with a mystery agent “Cole Smith” whom claims to be on her side as they go after the drug lord and try to snuff out the mole in the OIA department. Trust issues become a factor making the connection between Jesse and Cole stand offish and bitter at first because Jesse doesn’t have clue whom the mole is – as just when she thinks she has figured out who is behind it all, something happens to knock the clue out of the loop leaving her wondering and wanting the truth.
Between the exciting action of combat fighting and the drama of all the combining clues, this is one mystery you will not be able to solve until the very ending when everything starts to make sense. All the set ups, agent corruption, national security leaks, and lies will have your head spinning in amazement.
The story was not really based on a romance but as in most all cases when on a mission, the action, the thrill of the kill or chase somehow always turns ones hormones into wild desire. The chemistry between the characters is full of desire but the mission always comes first and they seemed to never get a break to do what they really wanted to do. Finally towards the end they got their moment and the love scene was pleasantly described in good taste. Sexual rating would be 2 flames out of 5 flames.
The ending was masterful as the mystery climaxed but the turn of the events left me wanting to know more about the characters and their future roles in the government or if they were going to have a life together after everything they went through of saving each other from hell and back.
